Universal USB-C dock with 60 W charging

The Plugable UD-CA1A is a USB-C docking station that adds an HDMI display, gigabit Ethernet, audio, and three USB 3.0 ports through a single cable. It delivers up to 60 W of Power Delivery to charge compatible laptops while they work. The dock requires a host system that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode and USB Power Delivery over USB-C. It is not suitable for legacy USB 3.0 or 2.0 ports, nor for Android phones and tablets that lack Alternate Mode video output.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

The unit operates without a fan, so it adds no audible noise to a desk setup. Power drawn from the host is limited to the 60 W Power Delivery budget, which covers charging and peripheral load together. The aluminium enclosure dissipates heat passively during typical office workloads. No active cooling or external power brick is required beyond the host connection.

Bundled accessories and software

The package includes a 13 cm USB-C host cable that carries video, data, and charging in one connection. No driver installation is needed on supported macOS, Windows, ChromeOS, or Linux systems; the dock uses standard operating-system protocols for display, network, and audio. Plugable provides optional DisplayLink-based software on its website for systems that lack native Alternate Mode support, expanding compatibility beyond the hardware requirement. The dock is TAA compliant for government procurement.
