The Pioneer DMH-C5500NEX is a multimedia digital media receiver built around a modular chassis and an 8.0" WXGA capacitive touchscreen. It targets drivers who want smartphone integration through wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The unit also supports HD Radio and satellite radio for expanded entertainment options. Its design fits dash openings that accept a modular single-DIN chassis with a large floating display.

Wired Smartphone Integration and Audio Processing

Under daily driving conditions the receiver maintains a stable wired connection for CarPlay and Android Auto, avoiding the dropouts common with wireless adapters. The built-in MOSFET amplifier delivers 50 W x 4 channels to drive speakers directly without an external amp. Advanced Sound Retriever, Auto EQ and selectable crossover networks (HPF, Band Pass, LPF) let you tune the output for sustained listening at highway volume. Modular Chassis Constraint

The modular single-DIN chassis determines whether this receiver fits your vehicle; it requires a dash opening that can accommodate the separate display module and hide the main unit behind the panel. Buyers with a standard double-DIN opening and no room for a remote chassis should look elsewhere. The 8.0" WXGA capacitive display is fixed to this form factor and cannot be swapped for a smaller screen.
