Industrial temperature transceiver

The Perle S-1110-S2ST10-XT transceiver is built for industrial networks that must operate in extreme environments. It connects 10/100/1000Base-T copper equipment to 1000Base-LX/LH fibre links across a temperature range of -40C to +75C. The rugged steel casing protects internal components in outdoor or harsh settings such as traffic management, oil and gas pipelines, and weather tracking stations.

Build integration requirements

This transceiver fits into a compatible SFP slot on a switch or media converter to bridge copper and fibre segments. It requires single-mode fibre cabling with LC connectors to complete the optical link. The extended temperature rating frees system designers from adding climate-controlled enclosures for remote cameras, wireless access points, alarms, traffic controllers, sensors, and tracking devices deployed in severe conditions.

Upgrade path and fit

The module replaces commercial-grade transceivers that are limited to standard operating temperatures and cannot survive sustained exposure to -40F or +167F. The jump is worth it when network equipment sits in unconditioned cabinets, roadside enclosures, or industrial plants where ambient conditions exceed normal limits. It is not suited for installations that demand multi-mode fibre interfaces or higher-speed 10G connectivity.
