The Partaker R9 is a 19-inch rackmount network security device built around an Intel Core i3-3220 processor, 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a 256 GB mSATA SSD. It ships with six Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports, a console port, two USB ports and VGA output, making it ready for pfSense, OPNsense, Untangle or other FreeBSD and Linux-based router distributions. The 150 W internal power supply operates on 100-240 V AC.

Sustained 1 Gbps forwarding throughput

The six Intel 82574L, 82583V or I211 controllers deliver a tested LAN-to-WAN forwarding rate of 1000 Mbps under continuous load, not just in short bursts. A dedicated ball-bearing cooling fan keeps the CPU and chipset stable during prolonged maximum-throughput operation, while the low-power B75 motherboard limits heat output in the 1U enclosure. The single bypass set maintains link continuity if the appliance loses power or hangs.

Verify rack depth and OS requirements

Confirm that your cabinet or shelf can accommodate the 430 mm width, 270 mm depth and 50 mm height of the chassis, and that the 6.5 kg weight is within the rack’s load rating. The CPU lacks AES-NI acceleration, so VPN-heavy workloads may run slower than on newer platforms. Ensure your chosen firewall distribution supports the Intel B75 chipset and the specific NIC drivers before deployment.
