Lamp life varies with projector mode

In normal operation the lamp is rated for 5000 hours and in economy mode for 6000 hours. Brightness and colour stability will decline gradually as those limits approach. The projector itself controls mode switching; the lamp does not enforce either figure. Installations that run continuously at high brightness will reach the lower hour count sooner.

The housing slides into the lamp compartment and locks with the projector's built-in latch, so no screwdriver is usually required. A common error is forgetting to reset the lamp-hour counter in the on-screen menu after fitting, which leaves the replacement warning active. Another issue is touching the quartz envelope with bare fingers, which can create hot spots and shorten life.
