The NShi 8-port 10Gbps SFP+ managed switch delivers 160Gbps switching capacity for high-bandwidth server and network environments. Eight SFP+ slots accept 1G, 2.5G or 10G optical modules, enabling flexible fibre connectivity without vendor lock-in. A web-based management interface provides Layer 2 features such as VLAN, QoS, Link Aggregation and Storm Control. The fanless metal chassis ensures silent, stable operation in noise-sensitive deployments.

Integration into a network build

The desktop chassis fits on a shelf or rack shelf and requires standard SFP+ transceivers, which are not included, so buyers must source compatible 1G, 2.5G or 10G modules separately. Non-blocking 10G line-rate forwarding across all ports frees upstream bandwidth for storage replication, virtualisation traffic or high-performance computing clusters. Web GUI configuration removes the need for a dedicated console cable or command-line expertise during initial deployment.

Sustained-load behaviour

With 160Gbps total switching capacity, every port can maintain 10Gbps throughput continuously without head-of-line blocking. The fanless design relies on passive convection, so the unit runs silently but requires adequate airflow around the metal case during prolonged full-load operation. Storm Control, Spanning Tree and Port Isolation features help maintain predictable latency when multiple high-throughput flows compete for buffer space.
