Replacement battery for Dell Latitude and G-series

This 15.2 V, 56 Whr lithium-ion pack replaces OEM part numbers 33YDH, 451-BCDN, 0NHRT and PVHT1. It fits Latitude 3380, 3480, 3580, 3490, 3590, 3500 and 3400 models as well as Inspiron 17 7778, 7779, G3 15 3579, G3 17 3779, G5 15 5587 and G7 15 7588. The four-cell design supplies 3684 mAh capacity. Buyers with other Dell series or non-Dell laptops cannot use this battery.

Installation is a direct swap

Power down the notebook, remove the base cover and disconnect the old pack before fitting the new one. The connector and screw positions match the original parts, so no adapter or soldering is required. A common issue is forgetting to detach the internal cable before prying the battery loose, which can damage the motherboard header. Another pitfall is leaving the old battery’s thermal pad on the chassis, preventing the new cell from seating flat.

Limited by the proprietary Dell interface

The pack communicates with the laptop through Dell’s own battery-management protocol, so the system reports health and charge cycles only when the firmware recognises the replacement. Third-party monitoring tools may show generic data instead of detailed wear levels. The 15.2 V output is fixed; the battery cannot be used in devices that expect a different voltage or cell count. Runtime depends entirely on the host notebook’s power draw, which varies across the supported models.
