The Novation Circuit Rhythm is a self-contained groovebox designed for producers who want to create and perform beats without a computer. It records samples directly to the hardware where they can be sliced, sculpted, reversed, looped and resampled entirely in the box. Eight sample tracks each offer independent 32-step patterns that can be chained for up to 256 steps per track. A built-in rechargeable battery delivers up to four hours of portable operation.

Moving Beyond Software-Only Workflows

This unit replaces a laptop-and-controller setup for artists who prefer tactile, screen-free beat construction. The jump is worth it when you want to capture grooves on or off the grid, use probability and pattern mutate tools to keep rhythms evolving, or apply live performance FX such as lo-fi tape, stutter and beat repeat directly from the front panel. Full-size five-pin MIDI in, out and thru plus analogue sync out let it sit at the centre of a hardware rig.

Plug the five-pin MIDI cables into your existing synthesisers or sequencers and connect analogue sync for tight timing with modular gear. No driver installation is required for the core sampler functions. The main friction point appears when transferring custom sample libraries or backing up projects, which relies on the Novation Components web platform over USB.
