Shelf life and leakage limits

Alkaline chemistry holds usable charge for up to five years in storage at room temperature. The manufacturer states the cells are designed not to leak under normal use. Capacity will decline if the batteries are stored in high heat or discharged at very high current. They are single-use and cannot be recharged.

Capacity headroom for typical loads

At 2000 milliampere-hours the pair comfortably powers a standard smoke alarm for its recommended service interval or runs a handheld meter through many sessions. High-drain devices such as motorised toys will exhaust the cells much faster. The pack does not suit applications that require rechargeable cells or lithium voltage stability.
