This 180x210mm reverse graduated neutral density filter is made for landscape photographers who use the Nisi 180mm holder system. It slides into the holder and can be repositioned vertically to match the horizon line. The design targets scenes where the brightest band sits at the horizon, such as sunrise or sunset over open terrain.

Replaces standard graduated ND filters

A conventional graduated ND darkens evenly from top to bottom, which over-darkens the sky above the horizon. This reverse version places the maximum density in the centre and tapers toward the top edge, so the brightest strip is controlled without dulling the upper sky. The upgrade is worth it when the horizon is the dominant light source and a regular grad leaves the sky too dark.

Handles a three-stop brightness gap at the horizon

The 0.9 density delivers three stops of reduction at the centre band, balancing a luminous horizon against a darker foreground. It works comfortably while the bright strip stays within the central transition zone. Once the highlight band moves far above or below that zone, or when the dynamic range exceeds three stops, the filter no longer provides sufficient correction.
