Copper Reducing Coupling 2-1/2" x 1-1/2

This wrot copper sweat fitting joins 2-1/2 inch and 1-1/2 inch nominal copper tubes in a straight line. It handles air, gases and potable water in plumbing and mechanical systems. The cup-to-cup connections are made by soldering for a permanent, leak-free joint. It is supplied new and ready for installation.

Maximum operating pressure 269 psi at 200 degrees F

This single rating defines the safe limit for combined pressure and temperature in the system. Exceeding either value risks joint failure. The fitting is rated to 400 degrees F maximum operating temperature, so pressure must be reduced as temperature rises toward that ceiling. Always verify system conditions against these limits before specifying the part.

Connects 2-5/8" OD to 1-5/8" OD copper tube

The coupling bridges the size step-down between the two tube diameters in a single fitting. It comfortably handles standard potable water, air and gas distribution pressures within the 269 psi rating. It runs out when system pressure or temperature exceeds the rated maximums, or when a transition to a different pipe material or connection method is required.
