The NETGEAR ProSafe GT-SW008i is an unmanaged switch built for harsh environments. It provides eight 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports in a fanless aluminium enclosure rated IP40. The unit operates from -40 °C to 80 °C and includes 4 kV lightning protection. It is suited for factories, warehouses, outdoor surveillance and compact control cabinets where reliable Ethernet connectivity is required without configuration.

1.8 Gbps switching capacity

The switch delivers 1.8 Gbps total switching capacity and forwards packets at 100 megabits per second per port. Jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes are supported for larger data payloads. The eight Fast Ethernet ports handle typical industrial sensor and camera traffic, but the 100 Mbps limit means high-bandwidth uplinks or Gigabit endpoints will be bottlenecked. There are no SFP slots on this model despite some specifications listing 16 SFP ports; only the eight RJ45 interfaces are present.

DIN-rail mounting with 90–260 V AC power supply

A 15 W industrial power supply accepts 90 V to 260 V AC and mounts on standard 35 mm DIN rail alongside the switch. The supply includes short-circuit, over-voltage and overload protection and operates from -20 °C to 50 °C. Passive PoE is listed as a standard, yet the port count shows 48 PoE ports which does not match the eight-port hardware; assume no active PoE output. The fanless design ensures silent operation and frees rack space for other DIN-rail devices. Builders needing Gigabit speeds, managed features or active PoE must look elsewhere.
