Streamline W 40104 Reducing Tee

This copper reducing tee joins two 2-inch copper tubes with a 1-1/4-inch branch for potable water systems. The wrot copper body is supplied precleaned and uses sweat cup connections on all three ends. It suits plumbers and contractors assembling residential or commercial supply lines where a smaller take-off is required from a larger main. Builders needing a different branch size or a press-fit connection will need another fitting.

Sweat Connection Practical Limits

The sweat cup ends demand clean copper tube, flux and a torch capable of heating 2-1/8-inch outer diameter joints evenly. Joint quality depends on installer skill; overheating can damage the fitting or draw flux into the bore. The fitting carries no centre stop, so tube insertion depth must be controlled on site. Systems requiring press, push-fit or threaded joints cannot use this fitting without adapters.

Capacity and Headroom

The 2-inch run handles typical residential and light commercial flow rates for hot and cold potable water. The 1-1/4-inch branch provides adequate capacity for fixture groups or secondary loops fed from the main line. Pressure rating follows standard copper tube limits for the installed tube wall thickness; the fitting itself does not impose a lower ceiling. Very high-volume mains or industrial process lines exceeding typical copper tube sizing would exceed the practical range of this reducing tee.
