PVC Reducing Wye for Gravity Drainage

This Schedule 40 PVC reducing wye connects three-inch and two-inch pipe runs in a gravity-flow drainage system. The white hub-and-socket fitting accepts three-inch pipe on two inlets and two-inch pipe on the third outlet. It is rated for gravity-flow pressure only and operates between minus twenty and one hundred forty degrees Fahrenheit. No seal is included with the fitting.

Sustained Flow and Temperature Performance

The Schedule 40 wall thickness maintains structural integrity under continuous gravity drainage loads without pressurised surges. PVC material resists corrosion and chemical attack from typical residential waste streams over long service periods. The hub-and-socket joints remain leak-free when solvent-welded correctly, even as the system cycles through the full rated temperature range. The fitting is not designed for pressurised applications or vacuum conditions.

Replaces Metal or Mismatched Branch Fittings

This wye replaces cast-iron or copper branch fittings where a lightweight, corrosion-resistant alternative is preferred. It also replaces straight tees when a forty-five-degree branch angle improves flow characteristics and reduces blockage risk. The jump is worthwhile when converting existing three-inch mains to accept a two-inch fixture branch without reducing the main line diameter.
