Catalytic Sensor for ALTAIR 4XR and 5X

This catalytic sensor detects carbon monoxide, hydrogen and hydrogen sulfide in portable gas detectors. It is built for workers who need reliable multi-gas monitoring in confined spaces, industrial plants or utility sites. The transparent housing allows visual inspection of the sensing element before each use. Compatible detectors include the ALTAIR 4XR and ALTAIR 5X series.

Drops into compatible ALTAIR portables without tools

The sensor fits directly into the detector’s sensor bay, requiring no additional adapters or calibration kits at installation. It replaces the existing catalytic cell and restores the instrument’s ability to alarm on the three target gases. Using this sensor frees the operator from carrying separate single-gas monitors for CO, H₂ and H₂S.

T90 response of 15 seconds under continuous exposure

During sustained gas presence the sensor reaches ninety percent of final reading in 15 seconds, keeping alarm decisions timely throughout a shift. The catalytic bead maintains stable output across the stated ranges of 0 to 2,000 ppm for cobalt hydride and 0 to 200 ppm for hydrogen sulfide. Extended exposure does not accelerate drift beyond normal catalytic sensor aging.
