Dual-Concurrent Wi-Fi Coverage

The Mikrotik hAP ac lite TC delivers simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless coverage for homes and small offices. A 650 MHz CPU with 64 MB RAM runs RouterOS L4, providing full routing, firewall and management features. Five 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports include passive PoE output on port five for powering another device. A USB port accepts 3G or 4G modems for backup or primary WAN connectivity.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The 650 MHz processor and 64 MB RAM handle continuous routing, NAT and wireless traffic without thermal throttling in the fanless enclosure. Passive PoE output on Ether5 remains stable while the unit powers a downstream access point or IP camera. Dual-chain 2.4 GHz and single-chain 5 GHz radios maintain concurrent client associations during extended usage periods. The 16 MB onboard storage holds configuration backups and scripts for automated recovery.

Upgrade Path && Limitations

This unit replaces single-band routers or basic access points that lack concurrent dual-band operation or PoE output. The jump is worthwhile when you need RouterOS scripting, VLANs or a USB modem failover link in a compact desktop or wall-mounted form factor. It does not suit buyers who need Gigabit Ethernet ports, higher wireless throughput, or more RAM for large routing tables. Builders requiring SFP ports or active PoE standards should look elsewhere.
