The MikroTik CRS326-24G-2S+RM delivers 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two SFP+ uplinks in a rack-mount chassis. It suits network administrators who need Layer 2 management with optional Layer 3 routing in a single device. The dual-boot design lets operators choose between the switch-oriented SwOS and the full RouterOS feature set. It replaces the discontinued CRS125-24G-1S-RM with doubled uplink capacity and more system resources.

Sustained switching behaviour

An 800 MHz CPU and 512 MB RAM provide the headroom to maintain wire-speed forwarding across all 24 copper ports while running VLANs, MAC filtering, port mirroring and traffic shaping. The additional processor unit handles RouterOS routing tasks without starving the switching engine during prolonged traffic loads. SwOS mode dedicates all resources to switching-specific functions for consistent throughput. Both operating systems preserve forwarding performance over extended periods rather than only in short bursts.

Thermals noise and power

Passive cooling keeps the unit silent in typical rack environments without moving parts to wear out. The efficient architecture draws modest power while sustaining full port utilisation and management tasks. Operating temperatures remain stable under continuous load thanks to the metal enclosure acting as a heatsink. This combination suits noise-sensitive installations and 24-hour operation where active fans would be a liability.
