The Midas DN4888 is a 1 RU bus-powered interface that adds eight balanced XLR inputs and eight balanced XLR outputs to any StageCONNECT system. It connects to other StageCONNECT devices using standard XLR or DMX cables for multi-channel audio transmission. The unit supports bidirectional 24-bit PCM audio at 44.1 or 48 kHz with sub-millisecond latency. Dual Ultranet outputs allow direct connection to personal monitoring mixers.

Replaces analogue multicore runs

A single XLR cable carries 32 channels of uncompressed audio between the DN4888 and a console or stage box, removing the weight and bulk of traditional analogue snakes. Cascading with DN4816-I or DN4816-O units expands analogue I/O without additional protocol configuration. The jump is worth it when cable length, channel count or setup time make copper multicores impractical for stage or side-rack connections.
