Micron 64 GB RDIMM memory module

This Micron RDIMM delivers 64 GB of GDDR5 memory in a single registered module. It is built for servers and workstations that require registered DIMM architecture for signal integrity. The PC5-5600 bus speed supports high-throughput workloads. Buyers needing unbuffered SODIMM or desktop DIMM formats cannot use this module.

PC5-5600 registered DIMM constraints

The registered design adds a clock cycle of latency compared with unbuffered memory, a trade-off for electrical loading reduction on the memory bus. Systems must support RDIMM topology and the PC5-5600 data rate; platforms limited to UDIMM or lower bus speeds will not accept it. Mixed populations with LRDIMM or different ranks may violate platform qualification rules.

Single-rank 2Rx4 organisation and OEM build

The 2Rx4 organisation places two ranks on one module, fitting dense server configurations without extra slots. As an OEM part it ships without retail packaging or a heat spreader, so integrators must ensure adequate chassis airflow. The standard RDIMM keying prevents insertion into incompatible sockets, but physical clearance around tall CPU coolers should still be verified.
