Metra 24200 is a medium-strength anaerobic threadlocker designed to lock and seal threaded fasteners from 6 mm to 20 mm. It prevents loosening caused by vibration and protects threads against corrosion. The blue formulation allows disassembly using standard hand tools without heat. Suitable for automotive maintenance, industrial assembly and general mechanical repairs.

Replaces Mechanical Locking Devices

This threadlocker eliminates the need to stock separate lock nuts, lock washers or other mechanical retaining devices for the stated bolt range. The switch is worthwhile when vibration resistance and corrosion protection are required in a single step. It also reduces part count and assembly time compared to traditional hardware solutions. Not intended for applications requiring permanent high-strength locking or for fasteners outside the 6 mm to 20 mm range.

Sustained Vibration And Environmental Resistance

Once cured, the adhesive maintains its locking performance under continuous vibration and thermal cycling typical of engine and chassis assemblies. The water-resistant formulation resists wash-out and protects threads from rust during extended service intervals. Cured material remains stable without softening or migrating over time. Removal torque stays consistent, allowing predictable disassembly with hand tools when maintenance is needed.
