What it is

The Meterk SA-00 is a USB digital microscope offering 40X to 1000X magnification with eight adjustable LEDs. It connects to Windows 7, 8, 10, 11, Linux kernels 2.6.26 and above, Mac OS X 10.5, and Android devices with OTG function. The unit ships new in a 12-pack container measuring 4.9 cm x 19.1 cm x 20.5 cm and includes a metal stand, carrying case, ruler, driver and OTG adapter. It is not compatible with iPhone or iPad.

Build integration

The microscope draws 5 V from a USB port and requires a 125 V AC supply for the included adapter. Steel construction and the metal stand provide stability during inspection of coins, skin, PCB, hairs and similar objects. Software installation enables screenshot capture, video recording and measurement functions on Windows only. The carrying case and supplied accessories keep the kit portable for field or bench use. Buyers needing iOS connectivity or wireless operation cannot use this model.

Sustained operation

Eight built-in LEDs are dimmable via a wired control knob and shine through a diffuser for soft, non-dazzling illumination during extended sessions. Corded electric power avoids battery drain so brightness remains consistent over long periods. The steel body and stand resist vibration and heat buildup when the device remains plugged in for continuous observation or recording. Measurement software remains limited to Windows, so Mac and Linux users cannot access that feature during prolonged use.
