Grade 1 double-cylinder deadbolt

The Medeco Maxum 11-R524-619-00 is a Grade 1 double-cylinder tubular deadbolt with a satin nickel finish. It uses a 5-pin tumbler cylinder on the Original 00 keyway and provides triple locking resistance to picking and key duplication. Solid brass construction adds anti-drilling and anti-prying protection. The lock meets ANSI/BHMA A156.30 and UL 437 listings for high-security applications.

Double-cylinder key operation

Both sides of the deadbolt require a key to lock or unlock, so occupants cannot exit without a key in an emergency. This constraint makes the lock unsuitable for doors that serve as the only means of egress from a room or building. Installation requires a 2-1/8" crossbore and a 1" edge bore, and the faceplate measures 1" wide. The 2-3/4" backset is fixed and cannot be adjusted to fit other door preparations.

Door-thickness range and security headroom

The deadbolt fits doors from 1-3/8" to 2-1/2" thick, covering standard residential and many commercial doors. Within that range the Grade 1 construction and UL 437 cylinder deliver consistent resistance to forced entry and manipulation. Doors thinner than 1-3/8" or thicker than 2-1/2" fall outside the tested mounting limits and would require a different lock body.
