Shackle diameter limits hasp compatibility

The 5/16-inch shackle diameter fits standard lockout hasps and many valve lockouts, but it will not pass through smaller 1/4-inch holes found on some miniature circuit-breaker lockouts or tight cable-lockout loops. Vertical shackle clearance of 2 inches accommodates thick flanges and stacked lockout bars, yet the fixed shackle height cannot be shortened for low-profile applications. Users must verify that each isolation point accepts a 5/16-inch shackle before specifying this model.

Laminated steel body resists prying and corrosion

The laminated steel body with white bumper coating resists prying attacks and withstands outdoor exposure better than solid brass alternatives. The non-removable key prevents accidental key loss while the lock is open.
