Stand-alone 25MP film scanner

The MAGNASONIC FS70 converts 35 mm, 110, 126, Super 8 and 8 mm film strips as well as 135, 126 and 110 slides into 25-megapixel JPEG files without a computer. A built-in 5-inch TFT LCD lets you preview, adjust brightness, apply RGB colour correction, flip or mirror each frame before saving. Internal memory of 64 MB stores a few scans immediately, while an SD card slot accepts cards up to 128 GB for larger archives.

Sustained scanning speed

Each frame is captured in under five seconds, so a full roll of 35 mm film can be digitised in a single sitting without pauses for cooling or buffer clearing. The scanner writes directly to the SD card or internal memory, keeping throughput steady whether you process a handful of slides or a box of mixed-format negatives. No software drivers are required, so the workflow remains consistent from the first scan to the last.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Verify that you have an SD or SDHC card rated for at least 128 GB if you plan to scan more than a few dozen frames, because the 64 MB internal buffer fills quickly. Confirm your TV or monitor has an HDMI input if you want to view scans on a larger screen, as the cable is not supplied. The unit operates on its own power supply, so no USB port or host computer is needed for the scanning itself.
