Vertical Tank Level Switch

The Madison liquid level switch uses a polypropylene float and stem to detect fluid height in a vertically mounted tank. It threads into a 1/4 inch NPT opening and operates in temperatures up to 221 degrees Fahrenheit. The SPST contact form handles up to 0.5 amps at 240 volts with a 60 VA rating. This new switch suits industrial or automotive tanks requiring a compact, corrosion-resistant sensor.

Pressure and Electrical Limits

The polypropylene body withstands a maximum pressure of 100 psi, making it suitable for low-pressure vessels only. Electrical capacity is capped at 60 VA, 0.5 amps and 240 volts, so the switch must drive a relay or contactor rather than a heavy load directly. Exceeding the temperature or pressure ratings will damage the float assembly. Installers must verify that the tank pressure and control-circuit draw stay within these boundaries.

Selectable Switch Function

The single specification that decides fit is the selectable switch function, which lets the installer choose normally open or normally closed action on the same unit. This flexibility covers both fill-control and drain-control logic without stocking two different part numbers. If the application demands a fixed function or a different contact form such as SPDT, this model will not meet the requirement.
