At 12.80 mm the drill handles medium-diameter work with room for standard tap drills and clearance holes. It runs out when hole depth exceeds five times the diameter or when coolant pressure cannot reach the tip. Chip evacuation becomes the limiting factor in long, uninterrupted cuts.

Practical limits of the solid carbide interface
