The M.A. Ford Twister Xd 3X is a solid carbide drill built for precision hole-making in demanding materials. Machinists and fabricators who need repeatable accuracy at 3.50 mm diameter will find it suited to CNC and high-speed drilling operations. The 3X geometry supports efficient chip evacuation and reduced cycle times. It is not intended for hand-held use or large-diameter roughing.

Build integration

The drill fits standard tool holders and collets that accept 3.50 mm shanks, requiring no special adapters. Its solid carbide construction eliminates the need for separate insert inventory and simplifies tool management. Coolant-through capability is not featured, so external flood or mist cooling must be planned. Users needing through-coolant or larger shank compatibility should select a different series.

Sustained-load behaviour

Solid carbide maintains rigidity and edge retention during extended production runs, limiting deflection at depth. The Twister Xd 3X flute design promotes consistent chip flow, reducing the risk of packing during long cuts. Heat resistance allows higher sustained speeds than high-speed steel alternatives.
