The Lyman Tactical Grip Glove #5103 is a slip-on accessory custom-designed for the Mossberg Shockwave and Remington Tac-14 shotguns. It adds a thick padded palm area that absorbs the heavy recoil produced by their 14" barrels. The non-slip texturing and single finger positioning groove give the shooter a more secure hold on the birds-head style pistol grip. It is built for owners who want better control and comfort without permanent modifications.

Limits of the slip-on design

Because the glove stretches over the existing grip, it cannot change the fundamental geometry or length of pull of the factory birds-head grip. The added thickness slightly increases grip circumference, which may not suit shooters with very small hands. The padded material dampens felt recoil but does not alter the muzzle rise or overall firearm weight. It is not a replacement for a fixed stock or a recoil-reducing system that mounts to the receiver.

Installation and common issues

Installation requires stretching the durable sleeve over the pistol grip until it seats fully against the receiver; no tools or adhesives are needed. A tight fit is normal, so the glove may resist sliding on during the first attempt. If the material is not seated evenly, the finger groove can sit off-centre and interfere with a consistent grip. Over time, repeated heavy recoil can cause the glove to shift slightly, requiring the shooter to readjust it between sessions.
