If you currently unplug HDMI cables to move between four sources, this unit removes that wear on ports and cables. The step up from an 18 Gbps HDMI 2.0 switch is only worthwhile when at least one source outputs 8K 60 Hz, 4K 120 Hz or 1080p 144 Hz and 165 Hz signals that need the full 48 Gbps path.
