It carries up to 32.4 Gbps bandwidth, enabling 8K at 60 Hz with 10-bit HDR, 4K at 144 Hz or 120 Hz, and 2K at 240 Hz. The cable is unidirectional, male-to-male, and 6.6 ft long. It requires no drivers and supports Multi-Stream Transport for daisy-chaining monitors.

When to upgrade from an older link

If you are currently limited to 4K at 60 Hz or lack HDR support, this cable unlocks 8K at 60 Hz and high-refresh 4K or 2K modes. The jump is worth it when both your host and monitor support DP 1.4 with DSC 1.2 and you need the extra bandwidth for colour depth or frame rate.
