The active cooling keeps temperatures in check so that transfer rates remain stable over long sessions. Hot-swap support lets operators replace drives without powering down the host. It is not for environments that rely on passive cooling alone.

Non-RAID JBOD Architecture

The card operates strictly as a non-RAID host bus adapter, presenting every attached drive individually to the operating system. Compliance with SATA 3.0 at 6 Gbps ensures full per-port bandwidth, while backward compatibility covers SATA 1.0 and 2.0 drives. PCIe 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 slots at x4, x8 or x16 all accept the card. It is not for arrays that need hardware striping or parity.
