FPV field-repair adapter

This XT60 male to DC 5.5×2.1 mm female adapter lets FPV pilots and RC hobbyists power a TS100 soldering iron directly from a LiPo battery pack. It bridges the battery’s XT60 output to the iron’s barrel jack so repairs can be done at the flying field without mains power. The compact pigtail suits quadcopter, multicopter and aeromodelling kits where bench equipment is unavailable.

SC100 protocol negotiation

The connector pair implements the SC100 fast-charging handshake so the battery can deliver the higher voltage the TS100 requests. Without this negotiation the iron would remain at a lower default voltage and heat too slowly for practical trackside work. The adapter itself carries no active electronics beyond the protocol pins, so it adds negligible bulk to a field kit.

Barrel-jack current ceiling

The 5.5×2.1 mm barrel interface is rated for modest current, so the adapter cannot safely pass the full ampacity of an XT60 connector. Users must verify that their TS100 draw stays within the barrel jack’s limit, otherwise the contact resistance will cause heating and voltage drop. The SC100 handshake does not raise the physical current rating of the DC socket.
