USB 3.0 to Power Over eSATA Adapter

This 1 m adapter cable connects an external eSATA hard drive, solid-state drive or optical disc drive to a USB 3.0 port on a laptop or desktop. It supplies DC 5 V power to a power eSATA port so the drive can operate without a separate power brick. The USB 3.0 interface supports transfer rates up to 5 Gbps for fast access to external storage. Upgrading from USB 2.0 to eSATA

The cable replaces a USB 2.0 connection with a USB 3.0 link that carries both data and power to the eSATA device. The jump is worthwhile when the host system has a USB 3.0 port and the external enclosure uses a power eSATA connector, allowing higher throughput and single-cable operation.
