10 Meter Active Optical Cable

This 10 meter active optical cable connects self-powered USB 2.0 and 3.x devices to a host computer across meeting rooms or open offices. It replaces conventional extenders with a single plenum-rated link rated for 200 newtons of tensile strength and a 1000 kg crush load. The Eca certified jacket allows installation through walls, above ceilings and inside standard conduit. Commercial integrators gain a durable, long-run connection without intermediate hardware.

Plenum Rating and Crush Resistance

The plenum-rated Eca jacket meets building-code requirements for in-wall and ceiling routing, so the cable can be pulled through conduit during construction or retrofit. A 200 newton tensile rating and 1000 kg crush load protect the fiber core from damage during installation and long-term service. These mechanical specs remove the need for separate protective tubing or repeater boxes in typical commercial pathways. The result is fewer failure points and simpler cable management.

USB 3.2 Gen 2 Bandwidth Limit

USB 3.2 Gen 2 delivers up to 10 Gbps only when the attached peripheral provides its own power supply. Bus-powered devices or hubs that draw current from the host will not operate at this length because the optical link does not carry power. The 10 meter maximum applies to this model; 25 meter and 45 meter versions exist for longer runs but share the same power constraint. System designers must verify that every endpoint in the chain is self-powered.
