16 mm Vacuum Elbow for Push-Fit Systems

The Legris 3199 16 17 is a black push-fit elbow designed for vacuum applications. One end accepts a 16 mm tube outer diameter while the other provides a 3/8 in MBSPP male thread. The body is moulded from fibre-glass-reinforced nylon and rated to 290 psi at up to 175 Degrees F. It is sold new and complies with California Proposition 65 chemical warnings.

Pre-Applied Sealant Omission Changes Assembly

The supplier data confirms that pre-applied thread sealant is not included on the male thread. Installers must supply their own compatible sealant or tape to achieve a leak-free joint on the 3/8 in MBSPP side. This adds a small preparation step but allows the technician to choose a sealant rated for the specific fluid and temperature range encountered in the system.

Push-Fit Installation with Standard Thread Prep

The 16 mm tube end connects by pushing the tube into the fitting until it seats against the internal grip ring; no tools are required for that side. The threaded side needs a wrench on the hex flats and the sealant mentioned above. The most common issue is insufficient tube insertion depth or debris on the tube surface, both of which prevent the grip ring from sealing correctly.
