Galvanized nipple for plumbing systems
This Legend Valve 356-193E nipple connects two female-threaded components in water or gas lines. The galvanized coating resists corrosion in standard residential and light-commercial installations. It is supplied new and meets Schedule 40 wall-thickness requirements.
Replaces worn or undersized threaded connectors
Use this 2-1/2" x 9" nipple when an existing fitting has corroded, leaked or no longer aligns after pipe movement. The jump is worth it when the system pressure demands Schedule 40 strength and the thread size matches the surrounding piping.
Limited to Schedule 40 pressure ratings
The galvanized finish handles typical potable-water and compressed-air duties but is not rated for aggressive chemicals or high-temperature steam. California Proposition 65 warnings apply because the product contains a listed chemical. Verify local codes before installing in drinking-water systems.

Questions about this item
What size NPT threads does the 2-1/2 inch galvanized nipple use for connection?
The nipple uses 2-1/2 inch NPT tapered threads on both ends to join female fittings.
How should thread sealant be applied to the 356-193E nipple to avoid leaks?
Wrap PTFE tape clockwise on the male threads only, leaving the first thread bare to prevent tape shredding inside the pipe.
When should the galvanized Schedule 40 nipple be inspected for corrosion?
Inspect annually for white rust or red rust at the threads and replace if wall thickness is reduced or water discolouration appears.
