This pack contains ten octagonal stirring bars designed for use with magnetic stirrers in laboratory settings. Each bar features an Alnico magnet core with a white PTFE coating for chemical resistance. The octagonal shape helps create effective vortex mixing in flat-bottom vessels. Dimensions Determine Vessel Compatibility

Each bar measures 38.1 mm in overall length and 7.93 mm in diameter. These specific dimensions decide whether the bar fits your flask or beaker and provides adequate stirring action. Bars that are too long may not rotate freely in narrow vessels. Bars that are too short may not reach the bottom of tall containers. Verify these measurements against your glassware before ordering.

PTFE Coating Handles Heat and Reduces Noise

The PTFE coating withstands typical laboratory heating temperatures and resists attack from most common solvents and acids. Its low-friction surface allows the bar to spin smoothly against glass, minimising mechanical noise and preventing scratches on vessel interiors. The inert coating also prevents the Alnico core from contaminating sensitive solutions during extended stirring runs.
