The L.H. DOTTIE CF3 coupling joins two lengths of 1-inch threaded conduit in electrical raceway systems. Its pre-galvanized steel construction provides corrosion resistance for indoor or protected outdoor installations. Electricians and maintenance technicians use it to extend rigid or IMC conduit runs in commercial and industrial wiring projects. It is not suited for non-threaded conduit systems or applications requiring liquid-tight seals.

Pre-galvanized Steel Under Continuous Service

The zinc coating protects the steel substrate during prolonged exposure to humidity and mild chemical atmospheres typical of facility environments. Thread engagement maintains mechanical alignment and electrical continuity across the joint when conduit expands or contracts with temperature cycles. The coupling does not incorporate a gasket or sealing ring, so it does not prevent moisture ingress in wash-down or direct-burial conditions.

Thermal and Electrical Characteristics in Normal Use

The steel body dissipates heat from conductors inside the conduit without measurable temperature rise at the coupling itself. No moving parts or active components generate acoustic noise during operation. The fitting adds negligible electrical resistance to the grounding path when installed with proper torque on threaded connections. Power draw is not applicable to this passive mechanical component.
