Coaxial, RJ45 and RJ11 testing

The Klein Tools VDV501-853 Scout Pro 3 tests voice, data and video connections in one handheld unit. It checks RJ11, RJ12 and RJ45 terminations plus F-type coax links. Power over Ethernet detection identifies PoE presence and class. Wiremap analysis finds miswires, split pairs, shorts, opens and shield faults. Length measurement reaches 2000 feet for accurate cable verification.

Carrying case and self-storing remotes

A hard carrying case holds the main unit, one self-storing Test-n-Map remote (#1) and five additional remotes (#2–6). Seven female-to-female and seven male-to-female coax barrel adapters are included. Seven RJ45 jumpers, two RJ11 and two RJ12 jumpers (all 6-inch) ship in the kit. A 9 V battery is supplied for immediate use. The case keeps every piece organised for field work.

Adds PoE detection and multi-remote mapping

This kit replaces basic continuity testers that only verify pin-to-pin contact. The jump is worth it when installers need PoE class identification, length readings up to 2000 feet or simultaneous mapping of six cable runs. It is not for technicians who require optical-fibre certification or automated report generation.
