The KES S2013A-BK is a matte black bathroom sink drain designed specifically for lavatory, vanity, or vessel sinks that have an overflow hole. It combines a pop-up stopper mechanism with an integrated strainer basket to catch hair and small items. The assembly is constructed from 18/8 stainless steel and brass for corrosion resistance. It fits standard sink holes ranging from 1-7/16 to 1-15/16 inches in diameter.

Upgrade from Plastic or Leaky Drains

This all-metal assembly replaces plastic pop-up drains that crack over time or older metal drains with worn seals that allow water to seep past the flange. The jump is worth it when the existing drain fails to hold water, shows surface corrosion, or lets debris pass into the trap. The brass pop-up bolt and stainless spring are rated for over 15000 open-close cycles, far exceeding typical plastic mechanisms. The multi-layer sealing rings and thickened brass locknut address the most common leak points directly.

Limits of the Overflow Standard

The drain only functions correctly on sinks manufactured with a matching overflow channel; it cannot add overflow protection to a sink without one. The pop-up linkage requires sufficient clearance beneath the basin to operate the vertical rod. The included slip-joint washer accommodates standard 1-1/4 inch tailpiece connections but does not adapt to non-standard pipe sizes. The matte black finish resists rust but can show mineral deposits in hard-water areas if not wiped dry.
