Check your host port and power needs before ordering

Your laptop or tablet must provide a USB-C port that supports video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode) and power delivery to drive the dock and charge the host. The dock passes through up to 85 W of power, so your USB-C power adapter should be rated at 60 W or greater to keep the system charged while peripherals are connected. Devices without video-capable USB-C will not activate the external display.

Thermals, noise and power draw in normal use

The unit has no fan and operates silently, relying on its metal casing to dissipate heat from the 85 W pass-through circuit and the 3.2 Gen1 controller. Under typical office loads with a 4K monitor, wired network and two USB-A peripherals attached, the enclosure stays warm but not hot to the touch. Power draw follows the connected host and peripherals, with the dock itself adding only a small overhead.
