KEHIPI 8MP Autofocus USB Webcam

This 8-megapixel webcam uses the IMX179 sensor to capture stills at 3264 x 2448 and video at up to 30 frames per second in 1080p. It connects through a standard USB 2.0 interface and works with Windows, Linux, Android and Mac OS without installing extra drivers. The compact 38 mm square board fits into tight enclosures for surveillance, 3D-printer monitoring or machine-vision projects. A built-in single microphone adds audio capture for streaming or recording.

Autofocus lens with 63-degree horizontal field

The camera features an autofocus prime lens rated at F2.0 that can focus from millimetre-range objects to infinity without manual adjustment. Its 63-degree horizontal field of view covers a wide scene while the 1.4-micron pixels on the 1/3.2-inch sensor deliver detailed images. UVC compliance means the host system handles exposure, white balance and gain through standard controls such as brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, sharpness, gamma and backlight compensation.

Plug-and-play installation on multiple platforms

Simply plug the supplied USB cable into a computer, laptop, Raspberry Pi or Android device and the camera is recognised immediately. The board draws a maximum of 300 mA from the USB port, so no external power supply is needed. The only common issue is selecting the MJPG format for high-resolution 30 fps streaming; the YUY2 format drops to 1 fps at the top resolution and requires a lower resolution such as 640 x 480 for smooth 30 fps video.
