HDMI-to-RCA converter with 3.5 mm audio

This Jansicotek adapter converts an HDMI source into composite CVBS video plus stereo audio through three RCA connectors and a 3.5 mm jack. It accepts input resolutions up to 1920 by 1080 at 60 Hz and is backward compatible with 480p, 576p and 720p signals. The unit is designed for connecting modern streaming sticks, consoles or PCs to legacy TVs, VHS recorders or DVD recorders that only have analogue inputs. It requires USB power and includes the necessary cable and adapter in the box.

Sustained signal conversion

The converter processes video continuously at the selected output standard, either NTSC or PAL, without upscaling or frame-rate conversion beyond the listed input resolutions. Aluminium-alloy construction helps dissipate the modest heat generated during extended streaming or playback sessions. Because the device only down-converts to standard-definition 480i or 576i composite, the internal scaler operates at a fixed, low load regardless of how long the source runs. No active cooling is present, so thermal throttling does not occur under normal use.

Thermals, noise and power

Passive aluminium housing keeps the converter silent during operation; there are no fans or moving parts to produce audible noise. Power is drawn from the supplied 5 V USB adapter, so the device adds negligible load to a mains outlet or a TV USB port. The 150 g enclosure remains only slightly warm to the touch even after hours of continuous video playback. No external power brick beyond the USB adapter is required, keeping cable clutter to a minimum.
