5U Vertical Wall Mount Rack

This 5U vertical wall mount rack secures up to 150 lb of 19-inch equipment such as servers, patch panels, UPS systems and network switches. It extends less than 10 inches from the wall, making it suitable for spaces where floor-standing cabinets are impractical. The unit ships fully assembled and includes a lockable vented hinged door plus a lockable hinged top panel for security and access. An additional 2U mounting bracket supports patch panels up to 2.5 inches deep.

Installation and common issues

Mounting the 30-inch deep enclosure requires a wall structure that can bear the combined weight of the rack and installed gear, as well as suitable fasteners for the chosen surface. The pre-drilled pattern follows standard 19-inch spacing, but installers should verify stud alignment before drilling. The included 2U bracket adds flexibility for shallow patch panels, yet deeper devices may exceed the 2.5-inch limit. Cable routing through the vented door and top panel needs planning to avoid pinch points when the locks are engaged.

Sustained-load behaviour

Ventilation slots at the bottom accept two standard 120 mm fans, allowing active airflow through the enclosure during continuous operation. The vented door and top panel maintain passive convection when fans are not fitted, helping to dissipate heat from fully loaded 19-inch equipment. Lockable panels stay secure under vibration from rack-mounted fans or hard drives, and the steel construction resists flexing under the maximum 150 lb rating. The rack is PCI DSS compliant, supporting physical-security requirements for long-term deployments.
