PCIe 4.0 U.2 to M.2 Adapter

This Innocard adapter converts a U.2 SFF-8639 port to an M.2 22x110mm NVMe slot with PCIe Gen 4 support. It includes a PWM 12V to 3.3V synchronous buck converter rated for 5.5A maximum output current. A built-in 3.3V hot-swap power controller handles up to 6.5A continuous current with programmable inrush slew rate. The board also provides 1.8V and 3.3V switching for sideband signals.

Straightforward Installation with Protection

Mount the M.2 22x110mm NVMe SSD onto the adapter and connect the U.2 end to the host backplane or cable. The integrated hot-plug protection IC manages power sequencing and provides overcurrent, undervoltage, overvoltage and thermal shutdown safeguards. Green and red LEDs indicate power ready and drive activity status. An onboard 64KB SMBUS EEPROM stores configuration data. No driver installation is required for the adapter itself.

M.2 22x110mm Form Factor Decides Fit

This adapter only accepts M.2 NVMe SSDs in the 22x110mm physical size. Shorter modules such as 2280 or 2230 will not mount correctly. The U.2 connector follows the SFF-8639 pin-out defined by SFF-9402 Rev1.1 and complies with NVM Express 1.3a. Builders needing a different M.2 length or a direct PCIe slot connection must choose a different adapter.
