PCIe 4.0 SFF-8654 8i x2 Adapter

This new Innocard adapter converts two SlimSAS 8i connectors into four EDSFF 1C ports for Gen-Z 1C devices. It targets system integrators building dense storage arrays that require hot-swap capability. The board implements the SFF-9402 Rev 1.1 pin-out and supports Broadcom 95xx Tri-Mode adapters through BP_TYPE and CPRSNT signal handling.

Four EDSFF 1C Ports with 12 V eFuse Protection

Each Gen-Z 1C port provides a programmable 6.5 A current limit with inrush slew-rate control and thermal shutdown. Back-to-back FET operation and per-port SMBus buffering enable true hot-plug serviceability. Green and red LEDs show power-ready and active status for every bay. The design complies with NVM Express 1.3 a and PCI Express Base Specification Rev 4.0.

Dual SlimSAS 8i Uplink for Tri-Mode Controllers

Two SFF-8654 8i interfaces connect the adapter to a host RAID or HBA card, carrying PCIe 4.0 lanes and side-band signals. The bracket-mounted PCB fits standard chassis slots and requires no auxiliary power beyond the 12 V supply routed through the SlimSAS connectors. Builders gain four hot-swap bays without consuming extra motherboard PCIe slots.
