4-inch EMT Compression Coupling

The RACO 2876 is a straight compression coupling designed to join two lengths of 4-inch EMT conduit. Its zinc alloy body with a plain gray finish provides corrosion resistance for indoor and outdoor electrical installations. The fitting is UL Listed and CSA Certified, meeting code requirements for concrete-tight applications. Electricians and contractors use it to create secure, aligned conduit runs in commercial and industrial projects.

Upgrade from set-screw couplings

Compression fittings replace set-screw types when a tighter seal and stronger mechanical grip are required. The jump is worth it for exposed runs subject to vibration or where concrete-tight performance is specified. Set-screw couplings remain adequate for basic dry-location work where code does not demand the higher sealing standard. This coupling installs with standard wrenches and does not require threading the conduit.

Handles 4-inch EMT raceways

The coupling accommodates trade size 4-inch EMT with an overall length of 3 27/32 inches and overall height and width of 4 3/4 inches each. It weighs 2.55 pounds, giving a solid feel during installation. The fitting runs out of headroom when the conduit fill exceeds code limits for 4-inch EMT or when a transition to a different conduit type or size is needed. It is not suited for rigid or IMC conduit without the appropriate reducer or adapter.
