Isolated Ground Receptacle

This 20 A straight-blade receptacle provides an isolated ground circuit for sensitive electronic equipment. The green grounding screw connects directly to the grounding contacts, separating them from the mounting strap and the conventional grounding system. A triangle marking on the face identifies the isolated ground configuration. It suits installations where a clean, noise-free ground reference is required.

Slender Compact Installation

The slender, compact design allows the device to fit in standard wall boxes without crowding. Wiring follows conventional side-terminal practice, but the dedicated insulated ground wire must be run from the system ground bus to the green grounding screw to complete the isolated circuit. Omitting that separate ground conductor defeats the isolation and is the most common installation error.

20 Ampere Capacity Headroom

Rated at 20 amperes, the receptacle handles typical branch-circuit loads for commercial and industrial equipment. It runs out of headroom when connected devices draw continuous current above the rated value or when the circuit breaker protecting the branch is sized larger than the device rating. The isolated ground path does not increase the current-carrying capacity of the power contacts.
