24-port Gigabit switch with SFP uplinks

The HPE Aruba 2930F JL259A delivers 24 autosensing RJ-45 ports running at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps plus four SFP slots for fibre uplinks. It is a managed, rack-mountable Layer 2 switch aimed at small-to-mid-size businesses that need reliable wired connectivity with VLAN, QoS and basic security features. CLI, web browser and Intelligent Management Center give administrators flexible control options.

Upgrade from unmanaged or Fast Ethernet gear

Replacing an unmanaged 10/100 switch removes the bottleneck of 100 Mbps ports and adds VLAN segmentation, link aggregation and SNMP monitoring. The jump is worth it when traffic patterns require traffic prioritisation, port mirroring for diagnostics or when the network grows beyond a single broadcast domain. Existing Cat5e or Cat6 cabling works unchanged at Gigabit speeds.

Handles 24 wired endpoints with fibre backbone

The 24 copper ports comfortably serve workstations, access points, IP phones and printers at full duplex Gigabit. Four SFP uplinks provide headroom for stacking or connecting to a core switch over fibre, but the unit has no 10G interfaces, so bandwidth-heavy servers or storage clusters will saturate the uplinks. PoE is not included, so separate injectors or a PoE switch are needed for powered devices.
