Network setup and common install issues

Connect the RJ-45 Ethernet port to a switch or router; the printer picks up an IP address via DHCP and appears on the network for Windows, macOS and Linux print queues. USB 2.0 provides a direct local fallback if the network is unavailable. Installers sometimes forget to remove the orange shipping locks inside the toner bays, which causes immediate jams. The touchscreen menu walks through Wi-Fi Direct disablement if only wired access is wanted.
